Awake Arise And Walk Together

Today I was watching “ The comedy circus” TV serial . A cute girl of standard 2nd was performing. Suddenly my mobile rang , there was a call and I went out to room. While talking I came out of my room and was walking in gallery. From there I saw three children, two girls, one of 10 yr, other of 6 yr and a boy of 5yr. They were performing street show. They were nomads. The girl of 6 was walking on road with bamboo tied by her legs.

You might be wondering that why the hell I am saying all this crap. Is this any new or a happening story? Alas this is not a story but a bitter truth. We all know it. Every day many of us see it. But very few of us really care for it. We love to see the daily TV serials and their so called reality show, by sticking our self to our couch in this chilly winter. Even we clap and wonder how come they can perform so nicely at such a tender age. But what a dichotomy is this, we dint even bother for those poor and deprived rolling out barely in this chilly winter. And adding to worse there came one old man in a thrashing manner. And started shouting on those kid. “What the hell are you doing here? Is this road belongs to your father? How dare you to create such nuisance. ” I was just shocked. How an old man could do so. A man who has seen so many facet of life, how could he react so rudely on those kids? In stead of sympathizing them with some money or goods, he was shouting on them.

We forget some time. We forget that this is the India of Bhagat Singh and Netaji. Those who laid their life, for the people of this country. And the worst of the fact is that, our country despite being free from past 62 years, has not yet been able to make it free from poverty. In fact we have become more self centric. We spend lavishly on throwing party. If we could just save few bucks from that party and distribute among the poor on the street or footpath. Many of them would not sleep empty stomach. If we contribute a little of our spare time to teach the underprivileged then many of them will learn to read and write. No one else is to blame for this. But we our self are responsible for this plight. Now it totally depends on our self to come on front foot and set up a new tradition.

Let us take a vow today. Not to blame any one else for our plight but shake our so that we can make our country a better place to live in.
